
Today I have added the Beacon Builder sequence of webpages. In April 2002 I was the project manager of the Beacon being built at Crich Stand to celebrate the Queens Golden Jubilee.
At the time I was on the Parish Council who funded the project which cost just over £6000. In these webpages you can see the full story of the Beacon being built from the making of the former and filling with concrete to putting the fire basket in place . The builders were Barry Smales Cresswell and his father, and also Billy who lives in Crich.
The whole project only took about 5 weeks to build , but obtaining the planning permision from Amber Valley Borough Council took much longer. Click on the green Beacon Builder above to enter site
